I take it the isolines on the wind charts are for the mean speeds and the individual numbers are the gusts?
Looking at tomorrow, you can see a conundrum I'm facing when anticipating conditions across The Solent; winds are considerably lighter to the SE of the region thanks to a weak anticyclone and stronger to the west due to a shortwave low - both with some uncertainty regarding their exact positions.
These high-res charts will be handy in that respect
