As we know from the floods in 2013/14, the waterlogging of catchment areas combined with prolonged heavy rainfall leads to one thing.


The weather pattern in the coming week will not help either.

The matrix here doesn't seem to match the assessment, I'd say the impact should be high which would make this an amber warning, not a yellow one.

As these extraordinary rainfall totals tot up , I am astonished none of the National Press dare mention the potential weather patterns beyond a 2-3 days timeframe. It is as if it is a given that this awful weather will continue unabated for weeks on end with the dreaded zonal flow completely stuck in a rut as it has been for weeks on end now. Looking at the charts posted on the forum and today's Saturday Times chart in the weather section ,I wouldn't be a bit surprised that the continuous conveyor belt of rain and really mild temperatures continue right up to the end of January .I really feel for those poor people who have had dreadful flooding since the beginning of December with little hope of a pattern change anytime soon.
