OK, so now the cold spell is going out with a sound like a gently-deflating balloon, I need your marks out of 10 - along with whatever comments you'd like to add.

Should be fun

1/10. Two air frosts in almost 10 months and no max lower than 5 says it all!

10/10 Because it didn't fall below zero and I didn't want it to.

4/10 - some severe frosts (-7, -8 and -5 in the last 3 nights) and some heavy sleet (at least they were snowflakes) overnight Saturday/Sunday.

Overall nothing special but given the mildness of last winter and early part of this winter its been nice to have some low temps and the last few days have been cold & sunny.

Fingers crossed for something more notable in Feb or March.

3-4 out of 10.

Being realistic for where i live. I did see some sleety stuff falling. I saw snow on the ground in Wales. Temps were low. Felt like winter for a change, and for an extended period of time

If I had seen proper snow falling, i would have added an extra 2-3, deep snow about an extra 4-5. very low temps and Blizzards, would have been 10/10/

You mean the damp spell with a couple of frosts at the end of it?

2/10

Would have been 0/10 had it not been for the lowest maxima in 3 years (which itself is more a reflection on how mild winters have become)

5/10

Only as high as 5 because of the mildness of the preceding weeks - it was nice to have a colder interlude.

We had several hours of snow from Saturday night into Sunday morning and a covering that lasted through much of Sunday.

Several sharp frosts as well, the first decent ones of the winter.

So, nothing exceptional but it was more or less in line with the forecasts, perhaps slightly disappointing.

2/10

Some cold rain was a nice change from the warm rain.

However, got a min of -4.3C couple of night's ago, so I've got to give it a couple of sympathy marks for that.

4/10

Coldest temperature recorded in 3 years.  Air frosts achieved - they have become "rare frosts" ;-)

A cold continental feel this week has made a welcome break from the drudgery of long fetch south-westerlies and some copious rainfall and nagging wind that has proceeded and will follow.

No falling snow IMBY (though that was never a likelihood), so overall, pretty tame, but worthwhile for the reasons added.

Rubbish just 3/10 and that's despite the light cover of snow on Saturday morning which, soon melted.

2 frosts and that's it.

For me I would have to say maybe 2/10.....if we have to hold our breath and cross our fingers in hope, every time, to end up with temperatures and weather that was standard weather and temperatures even during the snowless winters of the nineties and early to mid noughties then 2/10 is all I can give it I am afraid.....IMBY ofcourse

1/10 - 3 frosts and that's it. Each day reached at least 5C, meaning it was only the frosts that were worth a mention.

2/10 some decent frosts and a covering of snow. A poor effort hopefully Feb will be better.

Today is day 8 with snow cover and I just pulled out yet another stuck lorry which had slid off packed snow and ice several inches deep.
Hardly worth a mention really...

Pure trash. Would not even qualify as being as a standard, average January fare.  Low of just -3.1c.

0/10, and that is being overly kind due to my generous and forgiving nature.

Were it not for a trip up to Perthshire last week/weekend then it would rate a 1 or 2 in these parts, but I got my fix of snow up there so it gets a 5.

4/10

And that's really only because of the 6cm of snow on Saturday.
Frosts were pretty slight.

In some years I'd say 2/10- one for a sub -5C and 1 for all-day frost on grass for 2 days. In a rotten year it might score 5. After the December, rubbish predictive posts about coldest of the winter in November, and a sickly pewtrid Christmas, it scores 8. It's Einsteinian.
