This Evening and Tonight:
Rain and sleet across parts of central, eastern and southern England will move slowly eastwads, and turn to snow in places, possibly even to lower levels. Clearer further northwest with some icy stretches, and showers in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Thursday:
Rain and snow soon clearing eastern England. Elsewhere, sunshine and showers, with showers mainly across western areas and wintry over high ground in the north. Staying rather cold.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Turning wet and windy with heavy rain in places throughout. Staying cold in the north with hill snow but milder elsewhere. Rain clearing on Sunday with all areas turning colder.

Updated METO two things to note , today rain turning to snow in places possibly even to lower levels probably riles out most of southern england ,second unlike GFS METO makes no mention of snow for Sunday
