Was there anyone actually expecting snow?  There was (is) a technical chance for **one or two spots up in the north downs** in about an hour or two, but for all intents and purposes there was no sense of expectation whatsoever, more a sense of resignation.

Rain here in the Chilts. Temps and DPs hardly shifted.

No snow here with temps only falling to 3.3c at 9am just before the rain petered out.

Don't worry you are not and have not been forecast any snow for Sunday and you won't get any if that helps. 

No but was responding to Sunny Coasts comment. The GFS did forecast the cold to sweep south Sunday night - when I looked at the precipitation chart and now this won't be the case and having just seen the most recent looks like it will only be the higher parts of Scotland that will see the snow! If any and only the north staying cold but +6c isn't that cold. - The jet stream taking a turn for the worse. (More northerly track). Looks like a return to heavy rain and flooding for the NW.

Oh well only 2 more weeks of autumn. Then spring will arrive.

It will, it just won't get as far south as a couple of previous runs had suggested (in actuality, the majority of runs had the southwards extent of the snow risk reaching only south Midlands anyway)

This map is, as Gooner would say, JFF, because these maps are generally garbage by massively overplaying the snow possibility, but it at least demonstrates the cold air digging in behind the southwards-heading PPN band. Incidentally, if you look at the same GFS run the 2m temps at that time are, if you draw a rough line from the Humber to South Wales, at +2c or below for the entire area north of this (away from coastal fringes)

Have got a very light sprinkling of snow this morning, just 1/4 mile from the coast!  A nice surprise as it will probably the only snow I see this winter

Recently had a light snow shower pass through which has left a slight "sugar" coating Wasn't expecting that!

A briefly moderate snow shower at Maidstone, Kent..Shock !
