Meanwhile here at Kent, it is perfectly possible to get sunburn if I sit in my sheltered east-facing back yard for long enough. Felt very warm in the sunshine since winds has fallen calm and visibility is being absolutely stunning when I popped out to get the papers. Best morning ever.

Yes, this has nothing to do with snow reports, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Still snowing at 140m asl here in Gildersome, Leeds.

I was surprised to have to clear over an inch off the car at just 40m asl at home this morning.

A manager has just driven in from Birkenshaw, which is higher, in parts, and he has 10cm, easily, on the roof of his car.

I'm heading up north tomorrow so I hope I get some snow at some point over the coming week.. I know I won't be enjoy warm sunshine for a week up there.

Snow line roughly 200m asl here in Sheffield.

Higher parts of Sheffield seem to have 1-2 inches.

What's annoying about snow now rather than n the depth of winter is the fact they we've temps of 4.6c, now if this was say December, January you could guarantee that we'll have temps close to freezing but with a great big bloody mild sector sat over us.

The heavier snow earlier put coverings down on most surfaces (pavements/roads least covered) but the already wet and less-than-cold ground, coupled with temps above freezing, means that when the intensity of the snowfall reduced, there was meltage.

For the last hour or so, the snowfall rate has drifted between light and moderate.

The radar suggests the system sinking southwards, but likely a couple hours of PPN to come - I just hope it stays as snow, given that PPN further east has turned to rain recently

Is this likely? Or an exaggeration to get a snowday?

It's got a quite a bit heavier in Manc city centre - sticking again on more and more surfaces.
