Overnight low of 17C, still only 19C now. Temp is not leaping up as quickly as I expected. Perhaps there's a moist lower layer that needs to disperse first.

It is heating up here at Folkestone under the hazy sunshine, 27 C in the shade but mercifully the 51% humidity is helping to make it feel bearable.
No question that an official 30 C will be achieved somewhere in Kent this afternoon - probably already had done so! Could even nudge a little higher than that.
