Owing to the media, I am seeing many old grannies etc talking of heavy snow and severe cold which will last for weeks.... shivering and chattering before their teeth drop into their coffees. This is in Portsmouth too.... a city in the top 3 of having the least amount of snow in the UK.

Joe public are very confused with the media hype.

I find it funny that they did this in 2011 again they used the same two sources  (I think we all know which I am refering too), predicting -15C by late september, and the worst winter for over 100 years with snow chaos.

Result: All three winter months + march above average, with lower than average snow fall. The first widespread event of which did not occur in september, but rather the end of dember (i.e late not early). Even if this winter is the coldest in 100 years, they shouldn't be praised for it (even a broken clock is right twice a day) because they predict death from the sky EVERY frigging year.

Today really does beggar belief. 6 months of snow.....can't they look out of their office windows and realise that it's actually sunny, cool and crsip - ie normal November weather.

Jonathan Powell said "It's been a really cold November"!

No it hasn't....the CET is bang on the seasonal average....

It is irresponsible and down right sensationalism....and yet nobody acts to put it right.
