Knee-jerking is becoming this season's norm, it seems.
I think sacking Maureen is a daft decision and, although I can't stand the guy, I hope this comes back to bite the Chavs hard on the arse. They should have just written off the season then allowed Maureen to rebuild over the summer. It's like they can't accept the odd mediocre season. Just who do they think they are? They're a nothing club, who only have a seat at the footballing top table because their shyster crook of an owner shelled out his dirty money to buy them a place.
Saying that, if there's been a major fallout between him & the players, then it's a little more understandable. I don't know what their issue is, though (even if Ivanovich was rutting that doctor). Like him or hate him, it's beyond doubt he's a proven top class manager.
Talk of Simeone being lined up for the summer and he'd fit the bill perfectly IMO. His teams tend to play attritional, fairly dull football, which is the Chelsea style.
Tell you what, though, Bayern Munich must be feeling under pressure regarding Guardiola. The two Manc clubs & now the plastic twunts will all potentially be trying to lure him away this summer. Bayern, one of the great global teams, I reckon are thinking it a mad world when plastic clubs like Citeh & Chavski can pull the strings over them.
Then we have the LVG situation, with constant speculation over his position. FFS, he led them back into the ECL after Ferguson had let the squad wither into mediocrity and The Chosen One had been found wanting when trying to rebuild. They're still in the top 4 & grinding out results. OK, so they've shelled out the biggest net spend of the whole PL in recent seasons, but again, it's a case of the fans there thinking they have some innate right to win things. They don't. Success in football is cyclical. Who'd have thought, in the early 90's, that Liverpool would have over two decades of being also-rans?
Fans need to get a sense of perspective.
