Yes one of those showers were near me (North Wolverhampton), there wasn't much in the way of precipitation but there was a few deep rumbles to the south east of here.

Big tower going up just north of here over the downs.

And if look at the 14:00 radar you can see it just appear.

Looks like a convergence zone establishing itself with associated convection going by the latest vis sat - approximately a line from Chelmsford over to Swindon. Would not be surprised to see cells kicking off in that area soon.

Must be fun and games for those travelling along the eastern end of the M40 (approaching London), especially as that cell seem to be running on the spot.

The convection line running from Dorking to the isle of white seems to be back building and intensifying. Just west of the line here there is regular lightning flashes. Potential for some overhead lightning in the next few hours. The Beeb says more development over night.🌩🌩⚡️⚡️⚡️🌩🌩

Back built to Reigate but has now drifted west. Had a nice half hour of torrential rain and watching the ridge of the north downs getting struck several times. Loud but brief. Now rumbling away leaving the sound of barking dogs filling the valley. Angry storms. Enjoy, but stay safe
