Well i'm off, no sign of anything here, good luck to those with those severe warnings, i think a canoe will be you're best method of transport if tomorrows event comes off. I think this part of the Midlands will miss out with this one.

Pretty much continuous storms here since about 9:30PM, power outages, country lanes saturated. Stood in the garden and watched one approaching (dry) cell, and could hear the different sound frequencies of the spreading thunder towards me. Awesome. On the radar, it almost resembles a winter Thames streamer for snowfall.

Thunder and lightning here although the storm has built just to the east of here so best of the action is reserved for East Leeds.

That collection of re-generating storms down south looks nasty - must be some pretty serious flooding issues going on in some areas by now.

Last night's storm was pretty incredible. I got off the train in Farnborough just after 12.30am and it was right overhead, incredibly loud thunder cracks and rain like I've never seen before. Eventually managed to get a taxi home and the roads were badly flooded.

Back in Yateley 5 miles away the roads were only slightly wet and although there was a spectacular light show it wasn't raining.

Last night's storm was the nearest I've seen to a proper 'continental' style one in the UK. Today so far I've recorded 34.6mm of rain.

Struggling with the 2 mm of rain since last night.  If anything, it's actually brightening up again.

Although most of the rain are still to my west and looks heavy in places, but even so, I'm started to doubt my own forecast of heavy persistent thundery rain for my area for the rest of today. Still early in the day to write it off, though.

Struggling to get even 1 mm rain here. Just heavy cloud and odd spot of light rain; is now actually brightening up. Although there's thundery rain much further to the W, I would not be surprised if the rain areas either split-up and miss us or never actually arrives here later today.

There has been no thunder activity here since 20th July. This is VERY unusual, particularly for August!

I've never known anything so intense last for so long.  If it hadn't been for one road, the village would have been entirely cut off this morning.  Waist deep flooding on the village centre causing damage to various properties, which is all the more impressive considering Bovingdon is higher than the surrounding area at 500ft or so!

I haven't been out to check any flooding around the area but in 33 years that I have been recording the weather this is the most rain in 24 hours I have experienced.
