Can't be too hard to make your own soap. But toilet rolls in short supply- now that's a worry. Return to the 'carzie' principle of newspaper and other non flushables. Now, they'll need to be burned for hygiene purposes. It'll be like stubble burning all over again- little anthropogenic anvil clouds popping up all across the horizon.

Last time: because if supply chains are hit due to people being sick, people don't want to be without loo roll. The same reason people buy tinned food: it's not because people think rubbing a can of tinned tomatoes on their chest will cure the virus.

I don't understand why people don't get this.

The thing that causes the problem is  daft people stripping shelves - it's totally a self fulfilling  action.  Sure, there will be a problem if people start making sure there is one.

Another random thought.  If Covid 19 was transferred to humans from an animal, is it possible we could pass it on to other animals?  Is it possible we could further spread it via our domesticated animals?  I doubt that’s something we can answer yet as we don’t know enough about it.  Our cat seems to have a sore throat!

I’m regularly looking at Ryanair, Jet2 etc to see what’s on offer.

Has anyone been able to find any detailed info about the latest cases today?

Specifically how many have been caught in the UK

and whether any transmission chains have been lost?

Loo roll is quite simply, cheaper than kleenex. I reckon thats what it's about.

People strip shelves because they are afraid that somebody else will do it before them and there will be nothing left. A rumour starts about bog roll running out and, before you know it, bog roll has run out.

And then there are people like me who enjoy panic buying because it’s a laugh.

On that subject, my sister’s 87 year old mum in law asked my sister if she’d get her some toilet roll when she goes shopping tomorrow.  Julie said she would but asked how desperate she was.  She wasn’t.  She had plenty but had heard on the radio that people were buying it up and with her condition (Crohn’s disease) she can’t be without it.
