Some areas of the country have not seen many cases at all. Below are the english council areas with lowest rates of cases per 100,000 population. Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are only slightly higher so i can understand some of what your relative said. Their problem is that if things do take off from here then there are more people to catch it and pass it on so getting off lucky now may lead to them having bigger problems down the road.

That would make the rate of infection go up, not down - unless people who were reporting symptoms are now all in hospital on a ventilator.

That's interesting. It shows the peak of infections on April 1, which is also a good match for the lockdown (average incubation period is 5.5 days).

Sore throat was, I thought, but the other two weren't mentioned much at the beginning. As time goes on it seems almost anything can be a symptom!

My own mystery flu-light involved a pretty rough sore throat for a few days. I normally get a sore throat for a day or two before a cold, but this was something else! (I also didn't develop a blocked nose or congestion, just very mild flu-like symptoms. I still have the odd cough even now, a month on!)

I only asked because my Uncles brother ( Cancer sufferer ) was admitted to hospital for treatment but got the virus and within 5 days had died , his days were numbered clearly and by all accounts was given until Xmas to live but cause of death will go down as the virus
