Snow still on the ground where sun did not shine and around 3cm patches.  Been a amazing sight to see blizzards conditions early this morning with NE gales, that was a thing I used to see a lot in the 80;s.  Really hope next winter to deliver it in a correct season.  2 snow events here this month is great to remember.

Rain just started to turn to sleet with large flakes mixed in due to the intensity of precipitation picking up here in Okehampton - I anticipate this as snow over Dartmoor if anyone can confirm?

Temp 2.5c and stable.

Well I never - temperature dropped to 1.9c and we have huge wet snowflakes falling here in Okehampton (must be some evaporate cooling as intensity of precipitation pepped up) but not settling anywhere!

Unexpected top up of about an inch of additional snow overnight.  Still plenty of cover from Tuesday's dumping too.

Down to -4 in the night so most of 8" snow from yesterday still here, roads have generally cleared well after ploughing even where not salted as often happens with late winter/spring snow as solar heats the dark surface.

12cm of snow on Tuesday and pretty much nothing since 💤

21st Century blandness strikes again with this ludicrously benign cold spell that is nothing like what a cold spell used to bring here. All there's been since Wednesday is sunshine. What you used to get would be day after day of snow showers with the depth gradually building up and then maybe one dry sunny day at the end of the spell.

All the snow we've had since Tuesday was the lightest of dustings overnight on Wednesday/Thursday. Still 5cm of snow lying but bored of it now with no fresh falls.

The last hour or so has seen snow changing from large fluffy flakes to sleety wet stuff and back again here. It won't amount to anything.

Sleet and wet snow has been falling here in Edinburgh over the last few hours but apart from the odd slushy deposits, nothing is really settling here in NW Edinburgh where I am and that had even turned back to rain for a while during this evening.

Over the next few hours, I would expect any further precipitation to eventually and increasingly turn back to rain as it gradually turns that bit milder.

Had an enjoyable drive back from Derby via Chatsworth this afternoon.

Loads of lying snow about in the Peak District, with depths even after last night's rain and temps up to 7c today (plenty of meltwater) up to around a foot deep at the side of roads.

Big long walk round the Chatsworth grounds, with a lot of snow still lying there as well. A nice end to winter, even if it was 'cheating' by travelling to it.
