Here in Edinburgh, we've lost that wind from off the North Sea which we had yesterday and so, there's none of that easterly muck around this morning.
There is still some cloud around, but this morning is starting off on a mostly sunny note.
During last night, the temperature according to the 06z SYNOP data dropped to only 14.8°C which would have made last night our warmest night of the year so far had it not been for the fact that the official minimum temperature is actually measured from 09z (10am BST) yesterday morning and it was cooler than that for a while just after that time.
As a result, the actual official minimum temperature for yesterday was 13.3°C and that came through yesterday evening with the 21z SYNOP data.
According to the Met Office, today is forecast to be much cooler than of late with a maximum of just 17°C here in Edinburgh.
However, I believe that it will probably still end up being warmer than that.
As I write, we're already at around 16°C here in Edinburgh which is actually around 3°C warmer than it was this time yesterday and I wouldn't even surprised if we ended up with yet another 20+°C maximum which would be remarkable given that we couldn't even buy a 20+°C maximum up until just a few days ago.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
