17C and light airs. A few spots of rain but not enough to dampen the impression of a largely dry summer here so far.

Chilly autumnal feel, with northerly wind. It was clear first thing and 7.7C but now heavy cloud with hint of drizzle is back.
We had nearly 4mm in showery rain yesterday.

Last night was a cool night under fairly clear skies for the most part with an overnight minimum temperature of 8.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

This morning though as started off on a rather dull, overcast and gloomy note with a temperature of only around 12°C here in Edinburgh which once again, is making it feel not even the remotest bit like "summer" even though it's now the last day of the month which means that we are now heading into what should be high summer.🤢

It's now brightened up nicely here in Edinburgh and the Sun is out but the temperature is still only around 16°C.

Plenty of sunshine now so feeling pleasant enough.
If we can get some sunshine this week it will feel ok. If it's cloudy it will be a v chilly start to July.

A very different day to yesterday, a little rain overnight, a few patches of drizzle whilst out for a run this morning, brightened up for a while and then cloudy most of the afternoon.

Not a bad day in Edinburgh. We have reached 18 C in sunny spells. Lighter winds so feeling a bit warmer. Nice day out in the city with the tourists 😎

There's still a lot of cloud around just now and although this month has been much sunnier than of late in addition to being our sunniest month of the year, it now looks as our increasingly long wait for that elusive first sunnier than average month since January goes on.😡

We reached 19 C today which felt very nice in the sunny spells and there weren't too many places warmer, even down south 😎

White Rabbits!!

Last night was slightly milder than the previous night, but the temperature still managed to dip down into single figures for a while.

We are now into a brand  new month and what should be high summer but this morning and indeed, this month is starting off on the usual dull and overcast note with a temperature of around 12°C here in Edinburgh.

That to me, doesn't exactly strike as being "wet" in any way.

However, the temperature as I write is still only around 15°C which is absolutely pathetic for what is supposed to be high "summer" and the warmest month of the year on average.😡

The weather has cleared up nicely here now.

The Sun has even come out and the temperature has recovered to around 18°C which although no better than average for this time of year, is still a lot better than where we were just a few hours ago.

Edinburgh has technically just had its first 20+°C maximum of this month because although the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank  is still only around 18°C, the temperature at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh has now jumped up to 20.3°C.

I wasn't expecting that to happen and today doesn't seem like a day which comes even remotely close to deserving that status in any way.

According to xcweather.com, the highest temperature in the UK is currently only around 21°C at a location in SE England, so we're actually one of the warmest places in the UK just now.

Even this morning's rain didn't amount to much and given that June was a dry month here, this is turning out to be a dry summer at the moment which is in complete contrast to what happened during the spring with all of that flooding.
