Ancelotti gets the dreaded vote of confidence. Come to think of it, he could conceivably lose all three upcoming games and be sacked for his troubles. Worth a punt as the next PL manager to go, I wonder?

Roy seems to have developed an odd nervous tic too. Must be the pressure of the job.

Not good for wherever he ends up either. Petulant tosser that he is. I don't particularly like him, but Sir Al spotted it a mile off

I agree with most of what you say, but on this occasion you're bang out of order. It's not funny and it's not even close to the truth......on reflection I hope you'll agree.

I don't like Ferguson - never have - not least because he has used the press (portions of which he still loathes) to unsettle players at other clubs over the years - recent stories about Utd's interest in Modric being an obvious case in point. Yes, sports journalists largely invent stories to sell papers and appease their editors, but the stories aren't entirely without foundation. As I see it there is little difference between using maleable journalists 'looking for a story' and calling up Modric's agent to have dinner. It's simply a more subtle form of tapping up.

Is Ferguson petulant? I think his ongoing feud with the BBC ticks the necessary box.

Is Ferguson a tosser? I refer you to my second paragraph.

For all of that he has largely been a great manager for United over the years and served the club well.

I am sure Modric will end up at Man U hes a player SAF rates very highly and one which i would love to see at OT.

SAF petulant and being a tosser..? He stands by his family. His son Jason was never found guilty of any wrong doing yet the BBC who initiated the probe have yet to make an apology. Hes from Govan he will fight to the bitter end for family and for something he believes.

In the extremely unlikely event Modric gets his head turned it will cost Utd an absolute fortune to get him, given he recently extended his contract through 2016.

Of far more immediate concern to me - in terms of our dealings with Utd - is that 'Arry will do something incredibly stupid, such as trying to buy Carrick back. Things have moved on - Spurs are a better team now than when he left and Carrick isn't the player he was. I don't really see what value Carrick can add to our midfield, given the type of player he is. Indeed, Parker may be a better solution, though I'm not especially keen on him either.

I think down the line there will be a Player plus cash deal for Modric, doubtful if it will happen in January probably in the summer. It would be an outstaning acquisition for Man U tho on the face of it there would not be too many players Spurs fans would want from OT. Spurs have a wonderful team lots of attacking options and are playing really good exciting football.

Further to my earlier post, the following story comes from the school of pure fiction. At least I hope it does because if it doesn't I'll be tempted to stick my head in the gas oven.

Anyway, according to The People (I think) Inter will sack Benitez, Capello will replace him, Redknapp will replace Capello and Benitez will replace Redknapp. If there's a grain of truth in this Spurs fans should be very very very scared.

So, a result that neither Spurs nor Chelsea wanted, but a good advertisement for the type of football you don't often find in the lower leagues.

Now looks to be developing into a 4 horse race for the title, then a gap to Spurs, then a gap to the also-rans. Having said that, we have a series of relatively easy fixtures coming up over the next 5 games or so. Still all to play for.

I do wish Harry would not try and insult every single club on the way though, he even said "no disrespect to" before he disrespected Sunderland, it's a bit like when my 7 year old says "no word of a lie dad" and then goes on to tell me that he has just jumped over the moon.

I think Spurs' tactics were to play high, allow Chelsea to play in front them and then hit them on the break. In the second half they played too deep and paid the price for it.

Justice done - Rooney screws up penalty after utterly disgraceful decisions by linesman and that moron, Webb. I always have a fear when Webb refs an OT game as it's usually a one goal advantage to Utd.

I almost feel sorry for Arsenal, having outplayed Utd in the second half, although Utd were clearly the better team in H1.

Arsenal succumb to the old problem of having a lack of width. Walcott hasn't pushed on as a player and there's no-one on the left to provide the service of someone like Bale. They will not win the PL this season trying to play through teams. They outplayed Utd in H2, but their final ball wasn't good enough.

Man u 1 nil winners. Maybe not the best game but they did enough. 2 points clear with a game on hand and best ever unbeaten league start. Looking good for them.
