I completely agree, my post was more on the fact that the prices on the FTSE are far more realistic than the pumped up US markets, so the correction should be smaller, but the lemmings just follow the leader.

10 years for me, so plenty of time for a recovery in the pension (although the closer you are the bigger the hit).

Let's remember, its been said many times - its the additional pressures, impacts on supply chains etc that will cause the issues.

It is the reality of any rule, since the gig economy is here to stay, whatever party is in government - unless Labour would prefer to throw these people completely out of work. I would anticipate that "stay at home" would not be strictly enforced (unlike in China) and would be advisory - those whose jobs depended on getting out, would continue to do so - same applies if you work in manufacturing or a steel works or something like that.

If you were forced to remain at home and not work, I would surmise that you could claim benefits.

Taking those who can work from home off public transport, would be sensible however, since it would reduce the rate of new infections.
