Schoolchildren must be praying for closures. I remember in the 80s when it snowed and we were told not to come in. Happiest days of my life!

I could stay at home and watch Rolf Harris fiddling around with Morph and Philip Schofield playing with a glove puppet controlled by a man kneeling between his legs

More on the Japanese double infection - this is truly alarming in epidemiological terms:

"A woman working as a tour bus guide in Japan tested positive for the coronavirus a second time after an apparent recovery, the first in the country to do so as the infection continues to spread globally.

The Osaka resident, in her forties, first tested positive in late January after leading a tour that included visitors from China’s Wuhan, the outbreak epicentre. She was discharged from the hospital after recovering on February 1, prefectural authorities said in a statement.

On Wednesday, however, she tested positive again after developing a sore throat and chest pains about a week ago."

If Covid 19 can do the same, it would be a game changer. So impressive it could have been made in a lab as a bioweapon

But I am glad you get the point about the virus becoming dormant and then re-emerging - if the patient becomes contagious once again, then this virus is going to be around for ever and we will just have to get used to it - hopefully a vaccine will be approved sooner rather than later.

On the topic of complacency, some still don't appear to grasp the impact - it is not the number of deaths we need to worry about, but the level of ICU treatment which is required. The Chinese experience suggests a 20% hospitalisation rate, which would very quickly overwhelm health services in an epidemic.
