From the BBC website:

'Australian newspaper NT News has published eight blank pages as people panic buy toilet paper over fears the country could run out if forced to self isolate.'

Imaginative....

She had plenty but had heard on the radio that people were buying it up and with her condition (Crohn’s disease) she can’t be without it.

People strip shelves because they are afraid that somebody else will do it before them and there will be nothing left. A rumour starts about bog roll running out and, before you know it, bog roll has run out.

And then there are people like me who enjoy panic buying because it’s a laugh.

Strange sense of humour , panic buy if you must but i fail to see it as funny whatever way you look at it.

I don't understand why you don't get that people buying seveal months' supply of bog roll in one go causes the very problems they're trying to avoid...

Oil in bear market bought some today 1000L at 45p a litre including vat, funny how this slumping oil price is never passed on at the petroleum pumps strange that,

  • Oil prices sank to multi-year lows on Friday as OPEC’s allies rejected additional production cuts proposed by OPEC on Thursday.

  • U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell nearly 9% at the session low, while international benchmark Brent crude dropped more than 9% at its low. Each contract shed more than $4.00 at the session low.

  • The current production cuts will be in place until the end of March as planned, but it’s uncertain if they will extend beyond this month.

Professor Piot is now director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

So what does he make of the coronavirus? “I’m often asked whether the threat is being overhyped. The answer, to me, is no,” he says in Flemish-accented English. “This is the real thing.” He expects to see a big increase in British diagnoses, for two reasons: the virus is now being transmitted in the community and testing is being ramped up.

Cases appear to roughly double each week. “We can safely say there are already a few thousand people infected in the UK.”

...

Yet the crisis is still cresting. “I think we will go to the peak of the epidemic somewhere around Easter,” Professor Piot says. Measures such as banning large public events or closing schools might delay but won’t stop it. “We have no vaccine. All we have is medieval ways of containment: isolation, quarantine, contact tracing. But it’s really important not to give up and say, ‘Let everybody get infected and get it over with.’ That would lead to massive demand on the NHS. And let’s not forget that older people and people with chronic conditions are quite vulnerable — we need to protect them.”

Yep I saw those MM investors remain gripped with a near unshakeable panic, the week’s various central bank rate cuts only serving to reinforce the seriousness of the situation.” Which imo was a little soon but We will see the light in the end.

Why don't the MSM make it clear that the headline numbers quoted are merely those who have been tested and shown positive, not the actual real number infected, which is likely to be 20 times higher at least.
