My brother in law, a US Citizen, is stuck in Bucharest today.

He's been on a business trip.

No need to worry - Trump supporters say epidemic is all a media scare!

And seriously - why is Africa still relatively free? Is this a real effect or just lack of testing? I can't think that their public health systems are better than Europe's.

All along our Head has reckoned we'll be asked to close at the end of next week.

Looks like China have sorted themselves out unless they get a 2nd wave. Only a tiny, tiny percentage of the population got it aswell even if you do assume there will be thousands of cases that weren't reported. Let's hope the rest of the world follows suit in the coming months.

I posted this last night:

We start getting experts now blaming the government for complacency and incompetence. There was a professor of public health at Newsnight who was furious, saying that the government has wasted a month, that the approach used is too academic and wooden, that we are not following WHO recommendations,  the government is treating the public like children (the govt relies on behaviour scientists when it talks of possible fatigue with measures) and that we are not ready for what is coming. He emphasised how big a mistake was not to test everyone coming back from Italy over the last few weeks.

The editor of Lancet was also critical.
