Awful.

And yes  re. your other post - I saw stats yesterday but can't find them now - in the UK (or London, can't remember), 4.9% of 40-49 yos need hospitalisation. Can't remember what % of those need ICU.

Are you going to keep your children isolated at home once the school closes? If not, then it won't work.....

If I had children, would I keep them at home through this? Yes, absolutely. You don't seem to understand the magnitude of the threat and why other countries are basically shutting down everything. That will happen here - once Johnson realises that he is going to be responsible for a disaster. You haven't grasped if from the start.

Did I read somewhere a doctor was treating a number of 40 year olds who were in a very serious way? ( on ventilators )

There will be those who will take responsibility for their own behaviour and try to reduce the likelihood that they or their families are spreading the disease.

There will be others who will say things like 'all we need are the vulnerable to self isolate'. These are the ones who believe that protection of others is somebody else's responsibility, not their own. These are the people who will likely ignore the guidance and continue going to the pub, making unnecessary trips out to the shops every day and playing golf as usual. It will be the behaviour of these people which will guarantee the introduction of much more stringent restrictions which will be backed by the force of law.

German hospitals chiefs have said they are gearing up to increase their intensive bed capacity nationwide from the current 28,000 to 34,000 with ventilators.

Currently 25,000 intensive care beds have ventilators. With 34,000 beds, experts say as long as the current measures slow the virus spread down sufficiently, they should be able to treat the tens of thousands they expect to have to be hospitalised over the next few months.
