Have seen it mentioned a lot of times how Italy has an old population compared to other countries but not seen any figures put on this. Italy apparently has 22% over 65 while the UK has 18%. Area (I think this might be judged by constituencies) with the highest proportion of over 65s in the UK is apparently North Norfolk with 32%. From looking at a commons website I think the area I live in south London has 8.5% , doesn't seem to be an easy way to access the percent for all areas at once from what I can see.

Apparently the time is 4-5 days which means you assumption is quite correct. This means we cannot compare positives on a day to the number of tests. Its a right old mess.

I really don't trust our figures at all. The only figure you can trust sadly is the number of fatalitys.

I don't think that you can trust death figures either(at least not when comparing countries) - different countries may attribute deaths to diseases brought on by the virus as opposed to being directly caused by the virus.

Tests: how many, on whom, where.

Fatalities: where the patient had pre-existing conditions is Covid-19 listed as the cause of death or is it the underlying condition.

Even when a death is attributed to Covid-19 it's not possible to say categorically that it was the sole reason. The spectrum of symptoms from nothing to severe says to met that the way the virus and the body interact is not straightforward.

The idea of defining low-skilled people by salary is pretty ridiculous. I have taken a near 50% pay cut in changing jobs, and yet my new salary still puts me above many workers that I consider absolutely essential.

(My new job starts tomorrow - I have just been rearranging furniture so I have some office space in my bedroom. I have commandeered my 8-year-old daughter’s desk and moved it into my room. She can work at the dining room table! At least work are supplying a laptop so I don’t have to steal the family computer.)

The pay for a job is based on demand for the role not how important it is.
