Another day, another thread = stay safe!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52221402 Money for charities will be welcome but I fear that given the amount of work that charities do in the care and medical field (think of the hospice movement) the £750m is going to leave many important causes still in major difficulties. That's not so much a criticism, more a worry that the Chancellor is running out of barrels to scrape.

Anyway a grim milestone coming up today for those who track such things with the daily death toll set to enter four figures for the first time.

Why is Boris Johnson still in intensive care taking up a vital critical care bed when he doesn’t need any form of help with his breathing and he is well enough to sit up and chat with people?

I spent 48 hours in ICU three months before coronavirus had been invented. As soon as I was well enough to sit up, I was off to a general ward. They needed the bed ASAP.

Yes I don’t think we being giving the full picture.

The statement from No.10 was far less rosy than the 5pm statement.

But if we get a rosy statement this morning questions should be asked as to why he is in still in ICU taking up a bed of no longer needed.

In fairness the government have nothing to lose. If he is still critical saying so would probably cause concern among the general public and on the markets.

Any slight improvement can be exaggerated to put the masses at ease.

Latest on BoJo is he “mentally able to make decisions” and is “accessible”.

Reading between the lines, they haven’t once said he can “speak”, unless I missed that. This says to me he can listen, understand and nod his head, but can’t talk due to a reliance on oxygen.

Thoughts on that theory?

I think this long Easter weekend is going to be an utter shambles when combined with the lovely weather, in terms of lockdown adherence.
There needs to be a strong statement put out later - an address to the nation by the PM would have been ideal but obviously not possible.

I can already picture the scenes we will be seeing of picnics and beach goers.

But seriously, if domestic cats are spreading it, we need to know and the govt needs to start testing them

Otherwise current lockdown measures are meaningless
