Zoom is perfectly secure but if you allow anyone to join your meeting then you are asking for trouble.

Appears to have been just a groundless discrediting exercise.

Have to say I've used it several times after Chris' (Bugglesgate) suggestion in the Reasons to be Optimistic thread. Excellent especially if all participants have a fast internet connection

After reading the posts above I cannot disagree with the comments regarding our present situation. My frustration and anger is that this was seen coming, you only have to look at when this thread was started to see when members realised something was happening.

If the government had just bought some of the kit as a precaution back in December/January and made some limited restrictions on flights we would not be in this situation.
The above actions would not of destroyed the economy. I know these points have been made several times already but surely you would think that when you reach the pinnacle of high office this would be a case of common sense.

I know we don’t live in a utopian society and I suppose Trump is a clear reminder of that.

But I agree that we lost a month through poor decision-making.

Good news from Spain. Big drop in deaths again today. I would expect ours to start dropping in a few days time. If they don't it will be puzzling because the lag will be from well into the lockdown by then.

Our lockdown proper started on Monday 23rd march, so three weeks Easter Monday. I think we had about a week of "lockdown lite" before that. Is it still considered to be 23 days from transmission to death on average or was that from first symptoms? So I suspect there will be a small drop initially followed by a larger one then rapid drop off from when people really started to get serious - about the time Johnson went into hospital.

Shocking diary from an NYC paramedic today on BBC. Attended twelve cardiac arrests due to COVID in one shift, all died at scene, not included in official figures as not hospitalised so not tested...
