I would suspect the true rate is a mere fraction of one percent, given asymptomatics, people with mild symptoms not realising they have it, and the fact that younger people can get rid of the virus without even involving antibodies being produced...

I see the Abta are fuming because Grant Shapps has advised people not to book summer holidays. I'm not a huge fan of Shapps but what he said was absolutely right. Quite frankly you'd need to have a screw loose to book a summer holiday at the moment. I wonder whether Abta's members are taking bookings simply to boost their cash flow. Shocking if that is the case.

I have another ASDA story for fairweather!

Just got back from my local one in Wallington where they are breaking up couples and families and only allowing one member of a household into the store. The others have to wait outside. To make matters worse, they are only telling people when they get to the entrance after an hour long queue.

Makes no sense as people will just queue separately next time and pretend they don't know each other

Tesco do not have this policy. I imagine ASDA will lose a lot of custom if they don't change this

Are there still hour long queues, nearest Morrisons I've yet to see a queue as such maybe slightly slower than normal walk in but recently none at all.
The only thing still low on stock is flour. Some ranges such as bread are much simplified.
Prices have crept up and notice less twofer deals, in the order of 10% more for a similar shop

Crazy that anyone is considering booking at the moment. I haven't booked a holiday for next January I had previously promised my wife, on account of this pandemic, let alone a holiday this summer. If we are lucky, we may get to go on some hill walks in the summer in some UK beauty spots, but even that is not guaranteed.

I was going to book a med cruise in October this year stopping at Italy and Spain, so including the boat currently a triple whammy! The ship had lots of available rooms, but surprised the price went up in the last two weeks. The ship won't sail, could be none will in 2020.

No. i suspect you meant me. You love to take a snip and a snipe and distort. I was out there in full support on the first night, and every other out of a feeling of loyalty. Think the main failing was not using January and February to stockpile PPE or develop manufacuturing to produce it. We had two months, what was actually achived in that time?
