Interesting that June 1995 is in there. A lot of people forget that the first three weeks or so of summer 1995 were very poor. That period was characterised by NE'ly winds and many places were stuck under low cloud with temperatures barely getting into the teens. It was only once the solstice passed that summer 1995 really kicked off and it ended up becoming one of the best ones in UK weather history.
It would have been interesting to see (if weather forums actually existed back then, of course) what people were saying about that summer in June, versus what they were saying about it at the end of August...
