Just spent the last hour staking the fence, putting paving slabs on the shed roof and packing all the furniture away from the garden just in case it does track further north and develop. Fingers crossed the prognosis remains favourable for here and hopefully for areas south and southeast of here.

Not sure about anyone else but today is a very windy day in itself.

Latest warning update is out from the Met Office. No change for now in the prognosis and it remains an amber warning. The end timeline has been shifted a little given the system is expected to move through a little quicker than the forecast this time yesterday

Gusty here too, and the waves along the bay are a total white-out.

Biggest gust so far recorded this morning has been 52Kts, main event not due until the early hours of tomorrow morning. Wind due to back this afternoon  to the South and decrease F6 to Gale F8 then increase overnight up to Storm F10 with gusts to 70 Kts, I overlook the sea facing NW and it is boiling, forecast wave height locally is up to 27 feet later. I went out earlier and already the wind is strong enough to rock the 4x4 and there is already a covering of salt produced by the spray in the air.

I'm worried about those who put there rubbish out early, got a feeling that will keep us all awake when they start rolling down the road

P.S Fairly breezy out there at the moment but the sun is shining and it's very pleasent

Since the box ticked is still  high impact, but not yet highest likelihood of ocurrence, I wonder if any further update to red will occur now?

Given the talk of a downgrade, is it likely stil to be dangerous in Brighton between 7 and 9 am? Don't worry, I haven't cancelled the cab to try to get me to the office!!!!
