The old thread was over 100 pages and with a lot of activity likely in the next couple of days I think it's best we start a new one. No conspiracy sadly, it's just the software doesn't like long threads regardless of their political bias.

Just for the record, I voted Lib Dem today because their candidate was the one I judged to be at least superficially mentally stable from the line up.

Ladbrokes has suspended betting on UKIP taking Thurrock. No surprise if it pans out that way as it was one of their top targets.

Strange personal attack on me from NickR in the old thread? Does he think I'm someone else?!

I do wonder if, like on here, the Lib Dems are going to get "insurance" votes, i.e. in the centre ground and the least bad of the bunch.

I thought there would be some return to the Lib Dems on the day, but if undecideds are voting for them as well it could be an interesting night.

I think the polls will be wrong.  But in what way I have no idea.

I feel sorry for the pollsters tonight, for whatever the outcome is, I feel they are going to get egg on their faces.

The odds are still just in favour of ed being next prime minister ahead of Dave. Close but it doesn't appear the bookies have sniffed anything significant or it may well be that the polls have been about right all along.

I think we'll end up around 65-70% in England and Wales, and 75-80% in Scotland.

My partner's 19 year old (and first time voter) had never shown any interest in politics; until this campaign that is.

When asked as to why she has voted Tory she said: "I couldn't vote for Labour because they wrecked the economy"

Would anyone like to hazard a guess - will the BBC/ITV/Sky Exit Poll be correct?

It was on the last two occasions to all intents and purposes, but I think with Conservative Incumbency and UKIP's rise in particular, it's a different ball game now.
