Saint Snow
14 February 2016 15:26:20

Heavy graupel and back edge snow shower just brushed by the valley. It has left a few fields white where the core passed through around the Snake Pass.

Today's showers seem to be crossing over ok. If we are lucky tonight we might manage a few cm. Further west I'm not so sure.

Some decent showers here. We've had hail, graupel, and snow showers all weekend.

Nice rash of snow showers moving into Norfolk heading SW, my problem is winds expected to veer more Northerly in he next few hours, let's see if they can make it through in time

A good shower of big flakes here a couple of hours ago giving us a light covering that's still with us and the temp has now fallen to 0.2c.

Considering neither GFS or Euro4 have picked-up the current showery snow in East Anglia, it might be worth watching as it extends further south and west overnight. Seems to be generally snow away from the immediate coast so anywhere from Cambridge to Hampshire and points SE could catch a flurry in the next 8 hours.
I don't want to spoil my totally snowless claim so I'll try not to bother lol.

Switching to other parts... looks like a descending trough in the N Sea is pepping up the shower activity. I'm hopeful for some decent showers later on. Today was OK, but not as much activity as there could have been. Currently have a covering on all surfaces. Consett and the like have a really decent covering. I would expect there already to be an inch or two up there. Only 10 miles away, but a big height difference.

Our local area doesn't have a yellow snow or ice warning though it is pretty close to freezing here now and the shower now heading towards Colchester from Anglia are being moved south westwards rather than north to south like they were earlier. Streamers .?
