A cracking morning where it was 27C by around 10am. Not a cloud in the sky. It got a bit hazy this evening for a time before the cloud cleared but it was still 32C IMBY. I think that matches the 1st July last year, or maybe a degree above, so not bad 2 years on the trot! A lovely evening, humid, warm, everyone enjoying there gardens. I wish we had more like this, it was still showing 28C at 10pm.

Proper Fohn effect going on. Winds are quite gusty at times and it's still 25.5C which is incredible for here in fact unheard of.

I'm about to make the first attempt to sleep, but just got one last reading in from the garden; 24.8*C for midnight.

Yep - that's a 0.2 increase in the past hour. Gobsmacked.

Don't think I'm going to make any serious attempt to sleep tonight. Have severe eczema that will just get so much worse if I overheat.

Stormchaser, do you think there is any chance of us beating the record?

Warmest night ever recorded (since 1997 at least). Overnight low of 22.9c at 04.47hrs. There is no question that this is faulty as the station is situated down the garden 80 feet away from the house. Truly remarkable.

I've recorded a minimum of 23.7 C at 5.30 am last night but I think the sensor may have been picking up residual heat from a brick wall. But right now a freshening south west breeze is getting up providing relief even though it is still fine and sunny at this end.
