I must remember to get the homebrew in from the garage.
Sheds, conservatories, outhouses.... it’s all going to freeze quite readily come Monday!

AO profile looking very possible for an extended severe spell:

-22.8C on the 14th in 1958 in Aberdeenshire. Must have been a very cold week as four date records were made in Aberdeenshire and the Highlands on consecutive days.

On the subject of app/ auto generated web forecasts, BBC has temps widely jumping to 8 degrees on 5th March and that does not tie in with general trends at all.

Anyone seen the latest 96 and 120hr fax charts? They should be out around now... The 72hr has the 528dam line across the east coast.

Sort of on topic but the easterly wind was noticeable today and the air seemed dryer (falling dewpoints?). So much so that the mud in our front garden caused by our cars churning on it appears to be drying out.

GFS has sent a shortwave up to Iceland which may throw a spanner in the works. Very different up in that area even by T90.

The UKMO T144 chart shows an upper level low at 500hPa sitting right over the south of the UK at 12z Wednesday in the easterly surface level flow. Could be interesting.
