Not sure where to put this, because there's not a thread for snow potential (nor a specific one about the front moving in later today) but, seeing as it is about snow 19th Jan onwards, figure this is as good a place as any..
Anyway, the E4 is quite encouraging for here. A bit drizzly first off but then turning to snow over the whole of NW England (away from the coastal fringes). As the PPN gets lighter later on, E4 shows a return to sleet/rain for lowland areas, but I'll take the above, given the previous downgrades (and GFS still doesn't go with much of a snowfall here, instead preferring the rain/sleet only option away from elevation)
The important thing is that the low continues to be shown to slide, and slide toward the west of the UK. This obviously keeps colder air in place better.
E4 does, however, show the best snow for E Midlands/S Yorks. I hope Caz doesn't look at the models today!!
