I only wonder whether there were perhaps tensions behind the scenes at Chelsea as far back as last summer, Peter. If there were, then as you have said above, the spat between JM and the doctor could have been an early indication that all wasn't well between the manager and others at the club.
In the case of the incident with Eva Caniero, if JM had a genuine grievance with what she and her assistant did in the opening game of the PL, he should have spoken to both of them behind closed doors after the game and cleared the air between them that way. I wasn't at all surprised when I heard that Dr Caniero had quit her job not long afterwards, nor am I surprised by the legal action she has since launched against Chelsea and JM himself.
