UK Outlook for Saturday 18 Jun 2016 to Monday 27 Jun 2016:

On Saturday most of the United Kingdom will be dry with sunny spells, although eastern England will continue to be affected by some showers. From Sunday and into next week the latest indications are that unsettled and often windy conditions will return from the west, although there is a fair chance that much of southern and eastern England will be dry and bright this Sunday. In general bands of cloud and rain are expected to move eastwards across the British Isles, interspersed with brighter, showery conditions. The most frequent spells of rain are likely across the northwest, whilst the southeast should see more in the way of drier weather. Temperatures will generally be near average, but perhaps on the cool side at first, and turning locally warm in sunnier spells.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 28 Jun 2016 to Tuesday 12 Jul 2016:

Unsettled weather is most likely across the northern half of the United Kingdom through late June and early July, with showers or longer spells of rain at times, although there should also be some dry and bright spells in between. Southern and in particular southeastern areas are likely to see lengthier spells of drier, warmer and sunnier weather, but still with some occasional rain or showers. The temperature is likely to be generally around normal for the time of year, but perhaps a little above average at times in the south.

A very bizarre piece in the Telegraph today. I don't see any signs of the rest of June being a washout, certainly not for the southern half of the country.

UK Outlook for Sunday 19 Jun 2016 to Tuesday 28 Jun 2016:

On Sunday starting dry and bright in the southeast. Outbreaks of rain across the northwest will gradually push across all parts through Sunday and into the start of the week. The remainder of the week will continue unsettled and often windy with bands of rain pushing east, these interspersed with brighter, though showery conditions and the best of any drier weather in the east. Into the weekend and following week it will remain unsettled with the most frequent spells of rain across northwestern parts and generally drier and brighter in the southwest. Temperatures will be near normal, though feeling cooler in spells of rain. Where there is any drier and sunnier weather it will feel warmer than of late.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 29 Jun 2016 to Wednesday 13 Jul 2016:

The most unsettled weather is likely across the northern half of the country into July, with showers or longer spells of rain at times though there should also be some drier and brighter interludes. Southern and southeastern parts should see the best of any drier, warmer and sunnier weather though still perhaps some rain or showers at times. Temperatures should be around normal for the time of year, though perhaps a little above at times in the south.

As far as I can see high pressure will become increasingly dominant across the south of the UK from this weekend onwards. Talk of a washout seems crazy. One of those stories where the journalists have decided what they want to write and do so regardless of the facts.

I think the Met O will need to revise their forecast as I reckon the south will fair quite well next week, under HP influence, ECM follows my line of thinking:

UK Outlook for Tuesday 21 Jun 2016 to Thursday 30 Jun 2016:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain will clear eastwards on Tuesday to give drier and brighter conditions for many, albeit with a scattering of showers in the northwest, and some southeastern parts could hang onto the cloud and rain all day. Thereafter there is a higher than usual level of uncertainty in the forecast, but it seems likely that most parts of the country will see changeable, often unsettled weather prevailing. Spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps accompanied by stronger winds in the north, but there will also be some drier, sunnier periods with with the risk of a few showers. Temperatures will generally be near or slightly above average, possibly becoming warm at times, especially in the south.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Jun 2016 to Friday 1 Jul 2016:

Unsettled weather is generally expected to prevail through the second half of next week. Most parts will see some dry and bright weather at times, but spells of rain are expected in the north, whilst in the south the rain will be more showery in nature, perhaps thundery too. Temperatures will be near or slightly above average across northern parts, and slightly above average generally in the south, with a small chance of it becoming very warm at times here. Into the following week a changeable pattern is most probable. The heaviest and most frequent rain is likely to be in the northwest, with the longest dry and bright spells in the southeast. Temperatures will probably be close to average, but slightly above at times in the south.

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Jul 2016 to Saturday 16 Jul 2016:

Uncertainty is high through this period, but it is most likely that the changeable weather will continue. The most unsettled weather is likely to be across the northern half of the country, with showers or longer spells of rain at times, but still with some drier and brighter interludes. Southern and southeastern parts should see the longest spells of drier, warmer and sunnier weather, but still with some occasional rain or showers. UK Outlook for Thursday 23 Jun 2016 to Saturday 2 Jul 2016:

On Thursday and Friday, south-eastern areas look set to be warm and humid with a mix of hazy sunshine and potentially heavy and thundery showers. In comparison, north-western areas are expected to be somewhat cooler and fresher with occasional rain. Over the weekend, the fresher conditions in the northwest will move south-eastwards across all parts to give some sunny weather, although rain may spread from the northwest during Sunday. Beyond the weekend, spells of dry, settled weather are expected to be interspersed with occasional rain. The rain generally more prevalent towards the northwest, with south-eastern areas favoured for more prolonged periods of fine weather. Temperatures near average, though probably slightly above average in the southeast, and below average in the far northwest.

UK Outlook for Sunday 3 Jul 2016 to Sunday 17 Jul 2016:

A westerly regime appears to be the most likely scenario, with high pressure close to southern parts. Given this regime, the weather is likely to remain rather changeable, particularly in the north and northwest. More prolonged periods of settled weather are likely elsewhere, especially in the south. Temperatures are likely to continue around average for the time of year, though probably above average in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Friday 24 Jun 2016 to Sunday 3 Jul 2016:

On Friday and Saturday, most parts should see variable cloud with sunny spells and a few fairly isolated showers, although there is a chance that eastern and southeastern areas could hang on to humid and cloudier conditions at first with a risk of thundery showers. From Sunday, a changeable period of weather looks to become established. There will likely be spells of dry and bright conditions, but these will be interspersed by showers or longer periods of rain, with strengthening winds at times. The rain looks to be more prevalent towards the northwest, whilst southeastern areas are more favoured for longer periods of drier weather. Temperatures are likely to be near normal, though above average at times, especially in the south, and probably becoming generally below normal in the northwest.

UK Outlook for Monday 4 Jul 2016 to Monday 18 Jul 2016:

A westerly regime appears to be the most likely scenario, with high pressure close to southern parts. Given this set-up, the weather is likely to remain rather changeable with spells of dry and fine weather interspersed by wetter and windier conditions. The north and northwest are likely to see more in the way of this unsettled weather, whilst the south and southeast are likely to see the greater share of the drier and more settled periods. Temperatures are likely to continue around average for the time of year, though turning warm during the fine weather and perhaps rather cool during the unsettled spells.

Countryfile suggesting an interesting thundery low for Central S/SE/East Anglia Wed into Thurs but otherwise a weak westerly for this week. Next week could be stronger westerlies from the Atlantic, good for SE but not for NW

BBC monthly outlook

Monday 20 June—Sunday 3 July
Long days, but good weather?

After the dramatic downpours of last week, this week's weather offers something a little quieter, though still with plenty of variety. We'll all likely see some rain at times, but there will be some drier and brighter interludes thrown into the mix as well. The summer solstice is on Monday and hopefully most of us will see at least some brightness through the day. As a general rule this coming week, the further north and west you live, the fresher it will feel, with rather more humid conditions threatening southern and eastern areas for a time midweek. Whilst some showers cannot be ruled out, it does look as though Glastonbury should see plenty of dry and fine weather, so good news for festival goers.

Monday 27 June—Sunday 10 July
Champagne and strawberries weather?

Wimbledon of course starts this week, so all eyes will be on a good spell of weather for SW19, but how's it looking for the rest of us? It looks like we'll be continuing with this changeable pattern, thanks to a westerly jet stream bringing weather systems across the UK from west to east. This means that all parts are likely to see some rain at times, but there should be some decent drier interludes in between, especially across southern and eastern areas, with temperatures close to what we'd expect at this time of year.

Monday 4 July—Sunday 24 July
High summer, but high temperatures on the cards?

Well, in short, a prolonged spell of hot weather currently looks fairly unlikely, with the broadly westerly regime continuing to dominate our weather. So a mixed bag is probably a good expectation to have, with spells of rain mixed in with sunnier interludes. Saying that, the Azores high may not be too far away from southern Britain during this period, meaning it is perhaps these areas that stand the greatest chance of seeing the driest and warmest weather.

Next week

No heatwave, but most of us should see some reasonable summer weather at times.

UK Outlook for Saturday 25 Jun 2016 to Monday 4 Jul 2016:

Sunny spells and showers for most parts through the weekend, with some of the showers likely to turn heavy and thundery. These will probably become confined to the north and east later on Sunday, with some drier and brighter weather pushing into the west. From Monday, a changeable period of weather looks to become established. The whole UK will likely see spells of dry and bright conditions, but these will be interspersed by showers or longer periods of rain, with strengthening winds at times. The rain and showers look to be more prevalent towards the northwest, whilst southeastern areas should see longer periods of drier weather. Temperatures generally near normal, though warm during the drier and sunnier periods, especially in the south, with cooler conditions in the wind and rain.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 5 Jul 2016 to Tuesday 19 Jul 2016:

A westerly regime appears to be the most likely scenario, with high pressure close to southern parts and lower pressure in the north.

Central and southeastern parts likely to see a dry and bright day, with a risk of the odd shower, though cloud and outbreaks of rain pushing in here later on Sunday and into Monday. Through the start of the week and onwards, a changeable period of weather is likely. Bands of rain, interspersed with brighter and drier periods but also some showers will push across much of the UK, with the wettest weather in the northwest and the best of any drier spells in the south and southeast. Temperatures generally around normal for most, though often cool in the northwest and in wind and rain. Feeling warmer in the south and east in drier, brighter conditions.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 6 Jul 2016 to Wednesday 20 Jul 2016:

A continuation of this changeable westerly regime appears to be the most likely scenario, with spells of dry and fine weather interspersed by wetter and windier conditions.
