Grey, light rain but 16 C today so we are not the coldest city in Europe and Russia today.
That goes to Oslo and a few towns in N Scotland at 12 C

12°C and feeling cold in the fresh NNWly wind. Raining, as it has been all day, with a total so far today of 18 mm (73.9 mm so far this month).

14C here but a sunny start to the day which is good. Calm too after recent winds.
No garden watering as even the containers feel moist after the recent rains.

....and yet another cold grey day with drizzle, 11 C 🤢 I've had it with UK weather, I really have!
I'm going to have to do something about this or you'll have another Richard on your hands!
I'd love to spend Jan, Feb & March in The Algarve (Alvor) and July, Aug & Sept in the south of France or NW Italy
Thanks to Brexit thats my Max allowed but I'm seriously thinking of it for 2025.....anybody else have these dreams? 😎

In addition to that, the rain just keeps on refusing to fall here in any great amounts. Any "drizzle" which is around is very difficult to spot and everything is as bone dry here as it normally is here now.

Taking all of that into account and given that every other UK based member of this forum is reporting much higher rainfall totals than what we're getting here in Edinburgh, I'm struggling to see why you have so much to complain about given that there are a lot of members on here who would love to be able to trade their much higher rainfall totals with our weather here in Edinburgh but then, that is only my view and everyone is entitled to their own opinion on that which I fully accept, may well be different from mines.

It is true as well that the temperatures haven't been great but on most days, the temperatures are still turning out close to average on most days and usually higher than expected (sometimes, those have even been amongst the highest temperatures in the whole of the UK including SE England).

My only complaint is the lack of sunshine and as I write, our high "summer" permacast hell goes on with yet more dull and overcast skies. Given that absolutely nothing else is happening here which is even remotely interesting, that just makes our weather as boring and uninteresting as typical Edinburgh weather generally is and on most days, I only need to copy and paste a previous report from most other recent days in order to give an accurate account of the current weather.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently around 12°C.

Fair & dry with good sunshine and scattered clouds, current 18.4 C & high 70% H feeling pleasantly warm in light winds. Shame this is being yet another transient event as it'll be turning crap once again tomorrow.

It's back to normal summer weather here, FWIW. Clear blue skies, strong sunshine, barely any wind and relatively warm. The only bright spot is that the dewpoint is still relatively low.

20.2, dew 13.4. Last night's low was 12.9 and yesterday's high was 21.9. We'll beat that effortlessly today (MetO raw has 24, as does the text forecast).

An unpleasant 27C upstairs, so the aircon will be wheeled out tonight!

It's also hard to imagine that less than 100 miles away to the north it's been a mid-teens day... I'm envious.

Not a (big) problem in the old 61-90 days, when 24 or more was relatively rare, but it downright sucks these days. Hence why it's so refreshing to get a 61-90 first half of summer, and why a portable a/c is an absolute essential item. I first bought one 20 years ago and wouldn't be without one these days.

EDIT: Here's a picture of my bungalow when the shed was first added - taken by the previous owners, mid 70s. The windows have been replaced (first with aluminium double glazing in the late 70s, and again with modern uPVC two years ago), but the insulation will be exactly as it was then. Of course, in the mid 70s it was a hell of a lot cooler!

No trouble with stuffy houses up here, the heating came on briefly this morning. It comes on when the house goes below 17 C.
Still got my jumper on! In the last hour or so the clouds brightened slightly and we've hit 16 C outside and it's 17.3 C inside. At least the rain has fizzled.
I'm leading a walking weekend in Swaledale from tomorrow, looks like waterproofs and warm jumpers will be required maybe 15/16 C on Saturday. Sunday might be a slight improvement 🙄

I like this summer so far. Very little sun and comfortably warm most of the time, though still a lot more 'sticky' than I would like. I know, however, that you are far more prone to random plumes of hell heat than I, and I don't envy you on that at all.

BBC Weather just mentioned the 24 C in north Kent today......would love that, 8 C higher than here 😁
It's worth pointing out that at my local station (Swanston), the mean temperature this month so far is 13.2 C which is -1.7 below average and trending downwards
Rainfall is 33.1mm which is 41% and sunshine is 41hrs currently which is 24%. No sun yesterday or today

However, I fully agree with the other points made here as we come to the end of the second day of our latest mid-summer permacast hell.

In addition to that and since we are now approaching the halfway stage of this month, I can also add that the highest temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank during this month so far is only 20.7°C which is absolutely abysmal for what should be our warmest month of the year on average.😡

Today's maximum temperature is officially confirmed as 16.6°C which is rather disappointing for this time of the year once again, although I will once again stress that I have seen worse than that, and some members on here are reporting lower maximum temperatures than that.

As I write, the temperature here in Edinburgh is around 16°C.

A very different feel to things today - overcast, with low cloud scudding in from the North Sea, driven on by a brisk NE'ly. There was 0.8mm of rain earlier, but the rain now is staying just to the SE - literally only a mile away.

Hard to believe it is summer today.
High of 14.0c,  can accept that on a day of heavy rain day in July but it's been dry and almost bright at times, yet temperature so suppressed. 13.3c now.
