If you don't have healthcare insurance and present at the "Doc in a box" where the Doc prescribes a test, how much do you think they'll charge you for it?

Having experienced US healthcare first hand, nothing would surprise me. They will check your wallet before they compress a severed artery.

They may be "industrious" but that really no good if you don't have a tool set.  That's not to say they won't be teh first to  create a vaccine fro this thing !

I disagree. It won't be possible to cover things up in America and TBH we don't really know what is actually happening in Iran. I suspect the US will have hundreds or thousands of cases within a couple of weeks. How they respond will be interesting and possibly historic.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, a professor I talked to today reckoned over 90% of the UK population will contract it within 6 to 9 months, if not earlier.

Yes, the US law requires that a hospital you are taken to in an emergency preserves life as far as possible. Beyond that, they are looking for payment and it's aggressive. Often patients apparently without funds are imprisoned by use of a device called the Foley Catheter, even if there is no reason to insert one. It's applied because you cant remove it and it will blight your very existence until it is removed.

People actually sign those to protect their families from bankruptcy, not to ease their passing. Seriously, you have to understand how aggressive US healthcare is to understand.

Reading a post like this. My main worry over this virus is not the virus itself.


But people's reactions to the crisis. A + point though is in a genuine world wide disaster. The keyboard chickens will soon die out as they will be to scared to venture outdoors in case they catch a cold.
