The weather aspect is interesting and it isn't just about the UV radiation or the temperature, people tend to be much more outdoors when the weather is warmer and there is less proximity to each other. Despite what the modelling says, I wonder if after an initial surge of cases here in the next few weeks, we get it under control by May/JUne, before there is a second peak next winter.

So, out of a population of 6 million, where there is much travel to other European countries, they have only tested 649 people?

That suggests to me that some countries like Denmark have a large reservoir of infection hidden beneath the surface.

Another random thought.  If Covid 19 was transferred to humans from an animal, is it possible we could pass it on to other animals?  Is it possible we could further spread it via our domesticated animals?  I doubt that’s something we can answer yet as we don’t know enough about it.  Our cat seems to have a sore throat!

The other day, I remember seeing an article from a Doctor based in the centre of the epidemic.(Wuhan from memory), in which he claimed that the Virus on a hard (dry) surface was killed by temperatures above 23/24C.

Might explain the numbers we are seeing around the world.

For damp surfaces it is more like 40C!

That would also explain why handwashing in 'hot' water is suggested and very effective.   (mine is above the legal limit  now at 65C! and it feels boiling hot).

We were berthed next to that last year in Genoa last year!

You  will have had the flu multiple times it's just that you would have either had no symptoms or mild cold like symptoms. Only a quarter of flu infection develop into the classic hit by a bus body aches, sore throat, high fever etc symptoms,.
