It protected the ‘more at risk’ adults and protected children by infecting them while they were young enough for it to be less severe.  History tells us this works.  There are several documented cases of Western viruses being carried to countries by explorers and wiping out indigenous natives who had never been exposed to the virus and had no immunity.

My concern with the Government’s Herd immunity plan - do we even have confirmation that those recovered from the virus have immunity?

Unless we have that, we could be in for a world of trouble.

So you work at a school and will defy Government advice?  Sorry, but that’s irresponsible - they said 7 days.  Not ‘until you’re feeling better’.

I'm pretty sure I caught whatever the head had last week and she certainly didn't hold back on spewing out the germs! She seemed fine yesterday, for what it's worth. (She even said, as she coughed all over the place, that it was a "chest infection". Great.)

At least this afternoon I feel a bit better - still tired, still the odd cough (but very infrequent); the main thing is a slight feeling of congestion in the chest. I don't have a thermometer so can't check for a fever, but I don't look any different from normal colour wise. Although I had the hot/cold thing during the night, I've not had it since I got up.

All in all, not Covid-19 as far as all the stuff online goes.

I am at the moment - not been outside all day, in fact. As I should have been at the wolf centre today, that's already had an effect.

I won't be going out tomorrow either.

And if I still have symptoms on Monday, I won't go in either. If I'm fine, though, then I might - note the emphasis on might - go in.

  • Do you have a regular cough (no)

Nothing about any other symptoms.

Saying "no" to both gives:

You don’t need to speak to anybody right now as you:
don’t have a cough
don’t have a high temperature
It’s unlikely that you are experiencing symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Out of interest if you say you have a high temperature you get told to stay at home for a week.

According to The Times schools will be used as a tool to spread the coronavirus more widely when infection needs to be accelerated in the UK.

Do we know for certain this herd immunity thing is actually the plan?

The govt has mentioned herd immunity but they have also mentioned social distancing and flattening the curve.

Anxiety and stress can make you feel like you have a fever even though you haven’t.  I would absolutely make the effort to buy a thermometer to settle nerves.

On thermometers.. our trusty ear one was playing up a bit. I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. Very glad I did. I've assigned a separate cap for each family member (no way to use a new one each time).

Some of the yellow jackets protesters show how braindead they are by organising a protest in Paris in defiance of the ban of public gatherings of more than 100 people.
