Presumably Vallance, Whitty and Boris are recruiting yellow vest protesters to spread the virus in the UK when transmission needs accelerating?

The stress and anxiety is crippling. Seeing my kids talk about football, wanting to be a vet, wanting a new bookshelf... is very hard right now. Their entire future is not going to be what they think it will, and over the coming months they may well lose grandparents and maybe even me.

On thermometers.. our trusty ear one was playing up a bit. I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. Very glad I did. I've assigned a separate cap for each family member (no way to use a new one each time).

It is almost certain they will unless there is something seriously unusual with this virus. In fact if they do not have immunity the chances would also be we could not develop an effective vaccine.

Do we know for certain this herd immunity thing is actually the plan?

The govt has mentioned herd immunity but they have also mentioned social distancing and flattening the curve.

Well, like everyone else here, I do feel nervous about HMG's plan.

Is part of it not being clear about what the plan is?

And  yes I acknoledge the science may be behind it. But there is also new and interesting data from SK, taiwan, China, hong kong and Singapore. Their method clearly worked so why risk a strategy that is acclaimed in academic circles but has never actually been tested, at least on a large societal scale?

That’s why sometimes you get boosters for some diseases; eg tetanus if you’ve got a cut from a risky source.

Also this assumes herd immunity is even possible, we don't know that for sure, it may mutate too quickly. It also assumes we won't have a vacinne which is the safe way to obtain herd immunity.
