I was to make a forecast I think there will be some blocked drains in the next few weeks because kitchen roll isn't the same weave as toilet paper.

(My own drains are prone to block up if people further up the road flush dodgy stuff... the only good point is that legally the water board has to unblock them for free, now that the rules have changed. The street's pipework runs under my back garden and of course my drains connect to it, so that if it blocks downstream I get the sewage! It's the perils of moving in 37 years ago, when there were only 4 bungalows and one house on my side of the road, whereas now there are 7 houses and 3 bungalows.)

I've registered the folks (mid 80s) for on-line shopping this   morning and shoved their first order through fro next Sat.  No real problems.

.... they don't like it though, especially Mum, who thinks it's a total crime  to buy anything you can't see first hand - It's a generational thing.  Fortunately Dad is more than capable of  buying on line and frequently uses Amazon, but many of that age  won't be able to do this stuff and may not even have an internet connection.  I am sceptical that a lot of this age group will be able to isolate to any sensible  degree.

Most don’t have Internet, computers or mobile phones, unlike the younger generation, who you can’t get off them.

Of course, with policies like ours there will be a massive under-reporting of cases.

All this panic buying is fuelled by social media. 40 years ago you would not have much clue what was going on everywhere. From my observation older folk take precautions and just get on , young ones panic as this problem cannot be solved  on a smartphone.

Now is not the time to panic.

Yes it's going to be a rough few months but we are going to get through this.

Keep calm and carry on.

I did notice in my local Tesco last week (as I bought a pack of Imperial Leather bar soap, the same stuff I've used since the 90s

Oh, there was loads of shower gel too and I believe that works the same as soap.

I like the Imperial leather shower gel that foams up.

Nike temporarily shuts up shop

Nike is temporarily closing hundreds of stores across the world from Monday.

All of its branches in the US, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand are going to remain shut until 27 March, the company says. The company has almost 400 stores in the US alone.

Nike told US media that its workers would be paid in full during this time off.

Its stores in South Korea, Japan, most of China and "many other countries" are going to stay open.

It doesn't matter how many ventilators you have if you don't have the trained staff to use them.

We've got 30,000 people to repatriate from the French ski resorts. This will turn into another massive fiasco I expect.

The fiasco that some of us have been predicting for a few weeks is now unfolding. This Government is unfit to handle this national emergency.
