Our PM lies at death's door.
Over 5,000 of our countrymen dead.
This 'mess' all created by China.
Heard anything from them? Looked after themselves while the world buries and cremates its dead, tens of millions of jobs lost, economies lost for years, and they are buying up shares at a knock down price. They are opening up for business again and will mop up everything.

I had a dream last night about WW3 because the world revolted against China (and North Korea) who never put any of the wrongs right.
I am feeling very angry at the moment how that country has put the world in this position.

I must say I have had an awful sense of inevitability since hearing the first rumours about Boris yesterday evening. Hopefully that sense is misplaced but it’s had the air of bad-news management from the start 😞

Boris Johnson experienced breathing difficulties this afternoon and was given oxygen.

When it became clear that he needed to move to intensive care he told an aide that Dominic Raab should deputise for him.

He is still conscious

That, at least, is some comfort.

I'm surprised by some of the comments because I don't think he's under any illusion about how lethal this can be, as he has seen the numbers and the government policy changed as a result.

Hopefully it will be a wake up call for some of the idiots still thinking it's just a virus but I'm afraid there'll still be a minority looking to score petty political points over his misfortune, whatever the outcome.

Fingers (and everything else) crossed that he responds to the treatment. But i think it must be clear now that he is in no position to lead the government and won't be for some time.

All it needs is for people to boycott anything made in China but that will be incredibly difficult. For a start almost no smart phones or computers.

My own view is that the events of this evening have made the likelihood of a GNU greater than was the case before.

Whatever I and others have said about the way the government responded to the coming of this virus at the outset, I think all politicians need to put their usual differences to one side and come together for the common good. Winston Churchill led a cross-party government during WW2, and I think we are getting ever closer to that now.

Yes it can be used it does not always need a license that drug also already has a established safety profile as long as consent is given (compassionate use) it  is ok weather it is effective no one is sure

I might also add my boy was also on a couple on unlicensed drugs during his very dark days.

Not if it hasn't been cleared for use.

I have seen, though, Doctors in America using untested drugs on themselves (most notably HCQ).

It's increasingly like   living through some "B" movie plot.

This, without a shadow of a doubt, is the most worrying time  I have lived through  (well, OK, there was the Cuban missile crisis but being less than 1 I don't really count that !).

I'm afraid I'm also pretty mad at China  for allowing those god damned awful markets to carry on - even without this, slaughtering endangered species is beyond the pale.

This is definitely like living through a film. The situation is totally mad.

I hope he pulls through. This virus is so, so frightening.

If the rumours are true that the Chinese have been busy buying shares at knock down prices caused by the pandemic then I really would have a serious sense of humour failure.

Is now the right time to have a chunk of the government learning on the job?

Sad news about Boris, I hope he makes it. If he goes on a ventilator, then his prognosis is 50/50 or even worse because of his physical state.

I still remember him saying (in his usual jovial way) how he was shaking all hands at a hospital with CV19 cases in early March (I am not saying this is how he got it).

I know the disease could have originated elsewhere, but it's not like there wasn't a warning. SARS Mark 1 was a coronavirus. Bat's are know to carry various coronaviruses. Solution = stop fking eating bats and things that associate with them! It's not like most of the people eating these species would be starving if they declined it, unlike the ebola-causing bushmeat in poor areas of Africa
