I reckon that all sporting events in this country should probably have been suspended around the end of February/start of March, with the benefit of hindsight.
From what I recall, once it was obvious that the situation with the virus was getting out of hand in Northern Italy, the Italian rugby federation with the agreement of the organisers of the Six Nations competition decided to postpone Italy's final two games in this years competitions, yet the England v Wales and Scotland v France games on the weekend of 7th/8th March were still given the all-clear to go ahead.
Speaking for myself, I was at a large model railway exhibition in Glasgow on 22nd February, the largest of its kind in Scotland and the one of the biggest exhibitions of this type in the UK. Had I had any idea at that time that the UK was about to see such a large Covid-19 outbreak about a month or less than a month later, I wouldn't have gone to it and I imagine that many other people that attended it would not have gone either.
