LOL sorry Marcus.

I'm actually in Manchester airport waiting for a flight back to Southampton. Ironically the one time I might see snow this year and I'll be 10000ft above it 😞 :)

Meanwhile the radar is showing an area of PPN coming up from Swindon , a big bigger than the first one, hopefully a bit more of a covering, that will probably be my lot for this cold spell

Snow still falling in the Birmingham area.
Temp now down to 0.5C with dew points around -2.0C

Centre of low shown over pembrokeshire at this moment. If it moves slightly south towards the east we could be in for a night of snow.
The forecasters seem to think it will move south overnight. So who knows?

The northern edge of the ppn is flying north up to northern england now. Wonder how far it will get.  The snow must be just about to arrive here looking at the radar.  Doesn't look too heavy, but we could be in prime spot here overnight as it pivots over us...  fingers crossed.

Just seen the BBC forecast and it doesn't really look all that good IMBY. The action is just a little bit too far south and it never properly gets going, light snow/flurries perhaps?
Possibly better for the Wirrallites we have on here, assuming it's cold enough at their lower elevation of course.

Although air temperature has risen to 4.7 C in the past hour - up from 3.4 C all day, the 69% humidity had effectively brought the dewpoint down to -0.5 C under a moderate southerly breeze. While no precipitation of any sorts are occurring at the moment and it is still generally overcast, it is helping to shift some of this dampness.

Laying snow still in evidence at Whitfield near Dover at 1830 this evening.  Cloudy and damp with temp around 3c.  There is a SE wind and temperatures are dropping over in France so any precipitation we do get (maybe NONE) IMBY from after midnight may fall as snow in the same sorts of places that it did today, due to the cold continental feed later on.  IMBY, as reported this morning, first proper falling snow for nearly 2 years, a dusting.  Quite a pathetic effort really in the grand scheme of things but it looked pretty.

Light snow here.  We plan to set off for Gatwick around 2am, so I'm hoping it doesn't get too heavy before then otherwise we may have to bring that forward.

Could anyone between Nottinghamshire and Gatwick please keep me informed of weather conditions.

Light snow here for the past hour giving a dusting. Can't see much falling tonight. Doubt it will be intense enough to give more than a few cm.
