There won't be any snowfall for the central area of the country though, it's just a general inaccurate warning, maybe a slight frost and that's it, we can get those in May.

And that's one of the problems. With the colder air comes drier air. Tomorrow looks mainly dry for most of the southwest quarter, and I include up to the southwest midlands in that.
Five days of snow alerts for Kent. I wasn't expecting things to get going properly til Wednesday
Hmmmm..... I realise they are "covering their backs". I think any accumulations will be on higher land predominantly and somewhat temporary, nevertheless, that is a decent outlook before the best chance later in the week, subject to change of course.

Moomin only recognises snow over a depth of 6 feet
Seems almost anywhere could get a dusting of snow
N Miller chatting about an area of light snow running out of Wales across parts of the Midlands and Southern England later in the night
Yes they do seem to mention this, but it must be on their own high-res model as I'm not seeing anything on WRF or E4 tonight for these areas, apart from perhaps a trace.
Despite the mention they don't even show it on their forecast
Time will tell...

The 12Z runs have picked up on some light ppn moving N to S down the middle of the UK, but it's only a weak signal at this stage. The last few frames of the 5min radar is showing light snow across N England moving south so maybe a dusting in places.
snow falling here from that
