It is utterly irresponsible that we are allowing 3000 fans from a Covid hotspot to arrive for a game in a stadium at the same time that the originating city is banning such events because of spread. Who in the hell is letting that happen. It is too late now as the damage is done as these people are already here, but it is utter madness.

Italy does have a huge problem but we must remember that it is concentrated in 2 areas (Lombardy and Veneto). They account for 67% of all the cases. I'm due to visit Puglia in July, which is the same size as the south east of England, and it has 77 cases. The SE of England (including London) has 164 cases.

People will start to react themselves. Companies will react themselves (I suspect this is what HMG is waiting for). Panic buying followed by everybody just shutting themselves away. The lack of guidance from HMG on this is frightening. Are we heading toward a situation where HMG are so busy looking at the modelling that can't look out the window. Because that is what people will start to think.

I have a washing machine repair man from Hotpoint coming next week. Will he now be banned when we go to delay? What will happen? Will I have to find someone who is willing to do it privately?

Most inconvenient and from a selfish point of view, I would like delay phase not to happen. I don't really care if I catch it as I will probably be fine. If not, then so be it. I don't have a life anyway

I’ve just been reading the standard.

As was reported a few days ago - The St Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin was cancelled.

But guess what, we have the Mayor in the paper saying it’s going ahead as planned.

I’ve been doing my usual review of Facebook comment sections when a COVID-19 story is published. Nearly every comment now is about the government not doing enough.

Former British Dr slams the UK testing regime:

I’ve had it. My friends have all phoned NHS 111 and they’ve all been told several times that as they haven’t been to an at risk area they can’t be tested and they should even self isolate.

These people are saying they are as ill as they’ve ever been, and they still can’t do a test.

The reason we’ve got relatively low numbers in this country at the moment is because they’re only been testing about 1,500 a day. I think the infection has been widespread for a month now.

They may be upping the testing but they haven’t put Ischgl on a high risk list, despite knowing about this for days. It is a massive cluster. Six of us have been back in Chichester going about their daily life. I suspect we’ll find a big cluster in Chichester two weeks.

The increase in testing is way too late. I think it was obvious six weeks ago that we should have been doing surveillance screening. Lives are at risk here.

Tedros was clearly referring to the UK and US in his comments

I think that will change at 7pm, but the delay phase likely to be half hearted and nothing as severe as most other countries

As long as the pub stays open, I don't care

The focus must be on trying to insulate the vulnerable groups.
