I'd careful even with paracetamol, both it and ibuprofen are overused. It has also been found not to be better than placebo for chronic pain.

Wales only +30 which suggests the UK count will be down today. Two questions:

1) How many tested

2) How many deaths / hospitalisations

Deaths tend to be higher in UK hospitals at weekends. I'm not sure what period of time today's update covers.

I prefer not to take tablets for pain relief but, if it's beyond 'moderate' and I want to ease it, I don't bother with paracetamol, and go straight for the prescription-strength Co-Codamol.

It has the added advantage of giving one a mild euphoric buzz as well.

Those are all good questions which deserve answers, but this is the takeaway paragraph from the article for me:

Thanks for posting this. How can they can be so confident in the modelling result that banning mass gatherings will only reduce the peak by 5%. Experts keep saying that there is so much that we still don't know about the virus and we also don't know the true number of infections.

Hmmm!  Just realised you probably now have visions of me with a large wart on my nose, stirring a simmering pot. 

Again the ignorance is breathtaking. It overlooks the fact that all the measures will have value and they are very unlikely to be mutually exclusive. Therefore the existing measures + banning mass gatherings + school closures is almost certain to further reduce the spread.

At least we know that proper stupidity runs in that family.

And to think if things had gone a bit differently in December, that arsehole's even bigger arsehole of a brother would have been "leading" the country through this pandemic now...

I believe one of the issues we have at the moment is the media is still giving opinion as well as information, when we are past that, and really should be giving information for people.

But, again, it's about trying to get the balance right.

We could all just retire to our homes and stay there for 12 months.  That would cut out all transmission.   But that has obvious consequences.

Completely agree. However, the government needs to be completely honest and open. If we don't do EVERYTHING it means we are putting a £ price on human life. That could be desirable or even essential. Not being open about it is neither.
