BBC South News reports a case in a care home (Oakridge House, Basingstoke) - not announced whether staff or resident. The government's idea of 'cocooning' elderly people in their own care home is excellent - until the defences are breached and the care home becomes the land-based equivalent of a cruise ship.

They still aren't officially requesting that companies allow people to work from home wherever possible.

Sheffield has had it's first case confirmed today. Typical of our council that we've had to wait this long ๐Ÿ˜œ

Somewhat distasteful that there's the scraping sound of ladders being hoisted up in this thread.

Iโ€™m getting โ€˜intelโ€™ (careful wording - more like a friendly heads up) from police friends that guidelines on geographic quarantine measures are being reviewed and prepared (Italy style community lockdowns and restriction to travel).
To be honest I think itโ€™s a when not if.

My work is in my car as a Driving Instructor. I have informed all my pupils to be honest and let me know if they have any symptoms. I also carry a diluted bleach solution and wipe over all areas before the next pupil gets in. It takes 5-10 minutes but is worth it for the health of myself and my pupils.

One thing the government could have done (but didn't) back in January was introduce new leglislation that could give the govt powers to unilaterally institute a 'virtual HoC', so at the PM's discretion parliment could be brought online.

Obviously this would have taken months to prepare, but we had months.

The Italian crude daily ratio is obviously grim. It is a proper European Wuhan in one of the wealthiest areas of Europe. I hope this gets reversed soon.
