Someone on twitter said this. I hadn't really thought about it but.

Is it possible Boris is on ECMO? This is not ventilation, its actually even more serious than ventilation. I somehow doubt it but I suppose its possible.

There is no way they can even think about ending the lockdown or even lifting some of the restrictions until there is a clear and continuing decline in both the number of new cases of COVID-19 and the number of people dying from it.

I don't think we are anywhere close to that stage yet at this moment in time.

I do so hope he recovers quickly. I can't bear Dominic Raab.  He said I think the PM will pull through. Followed by the thing I hate more than anything when somebody is ill - if there's one thing I know about Boris Johnson - he's a fighter. Like all the other thousands who died didn't bother? It's a meaningless phrase and cliche that people trot out and it makes no difference whether you are or not to your immune system.

Coronavirus: UK cases 'could be moving in the right direction'

Quote

The number of coronavirus cases in the UK "could be moving in the right direction", the government's chief scientific adviser has said. Speaking at the daily Downing Street briefing, Sir Patrick Vallance said it was "possible that we're beginning to see... the curve flattening". He added, however, it would be another "week or so" before he could be sure. The foreign secretary, meanwhile, said the PM, who is in intensive care, is in "good spirits" and "stable".

It comes as the number of coronavirus hospital deaths in the UK rose to 6,159 - a record increase of 786 in a day, the Department of Health and Social Care said, compared with 439 on Monday. So far, 55,242 people have tested positive in the UK - an increase of 3,634 on Monday's figures. Speaking about the number of new cases, Sir Patrick said: "It is possible that we're beginning to see the beginning of change in terms of the curve flattening a little bit.

"We won't know that for sure until a week or so. But what we're not seeing is an acceleration." Sir Patrick stressed it was important to continue with the social distancing measures to ensure a reduction in the number of new cases.

Has anyone else noticed an alarming rise in the amount of dog sh*t being left on pavements and trails?
Over the years dog owners have been well disciplined at picking up after their dogs, and it was rare to see fouled pavements, but that seems to have changed since the lockdown?

Maybe it’s just my area...

My opinion is that the "irresponsible" dog owners have to walk their dogs now instead of driving them to a grassy area to let them tulip. The responsible dog owners who were and are walking their dogs are picking up the litter.

One advantage of this is that there is less dog tulipin the grassy areas.

To be clear this is not someone suggesting he is on ECMO, just a unproven hypothesis.

I happen to think its very unlikely, though will admit it is technically consistent with the press conference.

When were you in Sihanoukville Caz? I went there in 2003 and it was gorgeous. I saw some pictures last year of what it looks like these days and it was just heartbreaking. Where I remembered white sand beaches and little shacks (I still have a photo on the wall in my bedroom) there were half built skyscrapers, mega casinos and a constant tide of muddy water and rubble from the building sites trashing the beaches.

Likewise the Boeung Kak lake in Phnom Penh, which was a lovely chilled backpacker area with guest houses lining the lake, got completely destroyed a few years ago after the whole area was sold to Chinese developers who drained the lake and filled it with sand to build more skyscrapers on. Sickening corruption at play everywhere and the locals got virtually nothing.

Same story in Africa, the Chinese build all the infrastructure, roads and railways so they can strip the assets out of the countries.
